Baltimore, MD – Wednesday, April 16 – The Baltimore Ravens and Recycle Track Systems (RTS) today announced a three-year partnership naming RTS as the Official Waste and Recycling Partner of the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium. This collaboration will enhance stadium sustainability efforts by integrating RTS’s AI-powered waste solutions and fan engagement initiatives.

M&T Bank Stadium, a LEED Gold-certified venue, currently recycles 31% of its regular waste and is working to increase this percentage. Through RTS’s AI-driven analytics and real-time waste tracking, the stadium will optimize diversion rates, reduce contamination, and improve operational efficiency. By bringing together technology and sustainability, the Ravens and RTS are setting a new standard for stadium waste management across professional sports.

As part of the partnership, Cycle reverse vending machines will be introduced at M&T Bank Stadium. These smart machines encourage fans to deposit used beverage containers, reinforcing a shared commitment to waste reduction. Cycle machines are already in use at Citi Field (New York Mets) and Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia Eagles), proving that fan-driven recycling can make a measurable impact.

Beyond the stadium, RTS and the Ravens are committed to expanding sustainability efforts across Greater Baltimore. RTS will work with local organizations, businesses, and community initiatives to support waste diversion, promote recycling education, and drive impactful environmental programs throughout the region. This partnership ensures that the benefits of sustainable waste management extend far beyond game day, contributing to a cleaner, greener Baltimore.

“The Ravens are dedicated to being a model of sustainability for the NFL and our community,” said Rich Tamayo, Senior Vice President of Stadium Operations and Guest Experience for the Ravens. “We are excited about the opportunity to further grow our sustainability program at M&T Bank Stadium, where in 2025, we will divert even more trash through our already robust recycling and composting programs.”

RTS provides comprehensive waste management services for major venues, including Kauffman Stadium (Kansas City Royals), ensuring efficient waste diversion and sustainable operations. The company’s AI-powered solutions and sustainability consulting will support the Ravens in achieving their environmental goals while engaging fans in the process.

“M&T Bank Stadium is setting a new benchmark for what’s possible when innovation and sustainability come together,” said Gregory Lettieri, Co-Founder and CEO of Recycle Track Systems (RTS). “Through AI-powered solutions, centralized waste operations and fan engagement programs, RTS is proud to help the Ravens drive lasting impact both at the stadium and throughout Greater Baltimore. This partnership represents the future of waste management in professional sports.”

By leveraging technology, data-driven insights, and fan engagement, RTS and the Ravens are building a smarter, more sustainable future at M&T Bank Stadium and across Greater Baltimore, ensuring lasting environmental impact for both the stadium and the community it serves.

New York, NY – January 24, 2025 – Recycle Track Systems, Inc. (RTS), a pioneer in transforming waste and recycling management, proudly announces the closing of financing, raising over $40 million to drive innovation and reshape the future of waste management. This funding milestone will accelerate RTS’s mission to deliver smarter, cleaner, and more sustainable solutions through groundbreaking AI-powered technology like the revolutionary Pello sensor.

The round was led by current investor Edison Partners, with participation from Volition Capital, StepStone Capital Partners, and other major stockholders, underscoring strong market confidence and enabling the company to expand its footprint across the United States and Canada.

Greg Lettieri, Co-Founder and CEO of RTS, said:
“This round further strengthens RTS’s position as a pioneer in AI-powered waste management. The continued support from our investors reflects the market’s trust in our innovative approach to sustainability. This capital will accelerate our investments in AI, automation, and expand the deployment of Pello sensors across our customer base, enabling us to collect real-time waste data that sets a new standard for the industry. With this data, we’ll continue to drive innovation and advance how waste management is approached, unlocking new efficiencies and insights that will shape the future of the industry.”

Larry Cheng, Managing Partner at Volition Capital, said:
“We’ve seen RTS grow from a promising startup to an industry leader driving real change in waste management. This funding further accelerates RTS’s momentum, pushing the boundaries of AI and automation while expanding their impact across North America, solidifying their position as the industry’s most innovative and impactful player.”

Chris Sudgen, Managing Partner at Edison Partners, said:
“Edison is thrilled to lead this additional investment and continue our partnership with the company and other existing investors. RTS’ innovative technology and best-in-class execution in the waste and recycling management category continues to generate significant value for customers, resulting in the company capturing incremental market share each year. RTS is at an incredibly exciting inflection point and we couldn’t be more excited to support the company on the next leg of its remarkable journey.”

Shazi Visram, Board Member at RTS and Founder of Happy Baby Organics and HealthyBaby Verified Safe Diapers, said:
“RTS is uniquely positioned to help businesses and municipalities create healthier, more sustainable communities where our waste is better managed for our next generations. With a strong and passionate leadership team and solid foundation, I have full confidence in RTS’s ability to lead the transformation of this industry towards a better way. I’m beyond proud to be on this transformative journey from the early days to a brighter future that benefits us all.”

Deploying Pello AI Technology: Redefining Waste Management

At the heart of RTS’s innovation is Pello, a cutting-edge AI-powered sensor designed to transform waste and recycling operations. Pello provides real-time insights into container contents, fill levels, contamination, bin location, and temperature. Its intuitive dashboard enables businesses to optimize hauling, automate pickups, and accurately track ESG commitments, all while driving waste diversion and sustainability efforts.

Shaping Urban Waste Management Through Commercial Waste Zones (CWZ)

RTS has further solidified its leadership in the industry by securing a ten-year contract in New York City. As the youngest company selected through a highly competitive government RFP process, RTS stands out as one of five awardees for city-wide containerized services and as a zone awardee for three commercial waste zones. By integrating cutting-edge technology with municipal systems, RTS enhances customer service, optimizes collection tracking, and drives waste diversion efforts. In partnership with trusted, locally established haulers—Winters Bros., City Waste Services of New York, and Regency Recycling—RTS is advancing sustainability initiatives across all five boroughs.

This initiative is part of RTS’s broader strategy to grow its footprint across the United States and Canada, bringing AI-powered solutions to more cities and municipalities. The company’s technology-driven approach ensures greater efficiency and improved waste diversion, aligning with environmental goals and sustainability commitments nationwide.

Looking Ahead: A Sustainable Future

This new funding will fuel RTS’s next wave of innovation, expanding its AI-driven solutions and empowering businesses and municipalities across North America to accelerate the transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future.

ARLINGTON, TEXAS (July 9, 2024) – Delaware North, a global leader in hospitality and entertainment, is poised to deliver an exceptional food, beverage and retail experience at the 2024 MLB All-Star Game at the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field.

From premium clubs to local restaurant partners, freshly prepared poke bowls, onsite smoked brisket, street tacos, a vast selection of merchandise and technology that makes shopping a breeze – it’s a whole new ballgame as compared to 1995, when the Midsummer Classic was last played in Arlington.

SUSTAINABILITY

To further enhance sustainability, Delaware North has partnered with Waste Management to implement comprehensive recycling programs. All plastic from retail shipments, as well as cardboard and grease, will be recycled. Coca-Cola will also support these efforts by providing plastic and aluminum recycling units, encouraging fans to responsibly dispose of their waste.

Fans attending the All-Star Game will have an added incentive to recycle through the innovative CYCLE reverse vending machine (RVM), located near Section 125. By inserting empty beverage containers into the RVM and scanning a QR code, guests can instantly find out if they’ve won a prize.

Beyond retail environments, RVMs are also considered to be a good fit for high-traffic areas, such as entertainment venues and sports stadiums. Last year, Recycle Track Systems acquired RVM company Cycle, and that same month the company’s technology was utilized at the Super Bowl.

“A big part of [the] thesis for that deal was expanding that professional sports stadium portfolio, but also trying to diversify the customer base,” said Anwar Khan, product manager at RTS and co-founder of Cycle.

Khan quickly saw the potential for RVMs at stadium spaces, with placements at MLB and NFL events.

“Folks are given … autographs, jerseys, or signed merchandise from their favorite sports team,” Khan said, pointing out that RVMs create an avenue for consumers to physically interact with and participate in the sustainability initiatives of brands and venues that they patronize. “It’s changing the mentality for consumers.”

Some packaging companies are also working with RVM providers. This year, Ball partnered with RTS for the installation of an RVM at Copper Mountain Resort in Colorado to collect its aluminum cups. Once cups are inserted into a machine they are scanned, crushed and sorted for recycling.

Khan said municipally supported programs can be especially helpful in states where reverse vending hasn’t been pervasive in the past. He cited an RVM installation in Coral Gables, Florida, in partnership with the Florida Beverage Association. A machine was placed in the lobby of the War Memorial Youth Center, and the top recyclers were awarded benefits that they could use in their local area, such as movie tickets and meal vouchers.

“That program saw a lot of volume, because I think it was something that was so new to the community,” Khan said.

Sustainable workplaces and local champions: ‘Canada’s Greenest Employers’ for 2024 are announced

TORONTOApril 16, 2024 /CNW/ – If your organization wants to become more sustainable, start by listening to the employees who are most passionate about taking care of the planet. That’s the message from this year’s Canada’s Greenest Employers, announced this morning by Mediacorp Canada Inc., organizers of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers project.

“The common thread that runs through this year’s winners is that they listen to the employees who care most about implementing green initiatives and encourage them to lead the conversation,” says Chantel Watkins, assistant editor at Mediacorp. “By giving a voice to local champions, the staff members who are most passionate about the environment get the ball rolling on workplace initiatives that can make a significant difference.”

The Canada’s Greenest Employers competition is unique in that sustainability initiatives often cause a ripple effect far beyond the winners’ workplaces. At most employers, these initiatives are launched by employees who are highly engaged with green practices and policies.  A new program might start from a simple suggestion, such as instituting a ‘reuse first’ policy in the workplace to ensure as many items as possible are upcycled or sourced from recycled materials. From there, ripples from the policy bring similar changes to suppliers and customers, who discover that a more sustainable solution is possible. Employees also discuss the new green policies with one another and family members, which inspires employers in other industries and regions to implement similar initiatives.

“There are always questions when it comes to sustainability and the adoption of greener practices and policies” adds Richard Yerema, executive editor of the project. “By tapping into their most valuable resource, their people, employers can easily identify the areas most in need of attention. Whether they’re brewing beer, manufacturing automobiles, or managing a nationwide accounting firm, local champions often lead the way by recommending and implementing the small incremental steps that create greener workplaces.”

Now in its 17th year, Canada’s Greenest Employers is an editorial competition that recognizes the employers that lead the nation in creating a culture of environmental awareness. Winning employers, selected by editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, are evaluated using four main criteria: (1) unique environmental initiatives or programs they have developed; (2) whether they have been successful in reducing their own environmental footprint; (3) whether their employees are involved in these programs and contribute unique skills; and (4) whether the environmental initiatives have become part of an employer’s public identity, attracting new employees and customers.

Founded in 1992, Mediacorp Canada Inc. is the nation’s largest publisher of employment periodicals. Since 1999, the Toronto-based publisher has managed the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, which includes 19 regional and special-interest editorial competitions that reach millions of Canadians annually through a variety of magazine and newspaper partners, including The Globe and Mail. Mediacorp sites reach over 2.6 million Canadians each year, including its Eluta.ca job search engine that lets job-seekers find new job postings and learn what the nation’s best employers are offering.

The full list of Canada’s Greenest Employers (2024) was announced today in a special magazine published by Mediacorp Canada Inc. and distributed online in The Globe and Mail. Detailed ‘reasons for selection’ for each of this year’s winners, as well as stories and photos of their initiatives, were released today by the editors and are accessible via the competition homepage.

New York, NY – March 18, 2024 – Recycle Track Systems NYC, LLC (“RTS NYC”), a member of the RTS group of companies (“RTS”), is proud to announce its pivotal role in New York City’s groundbreaking Commercial Waste Zones (“CWZ”) program, mandated by Local Law 199 of 2019. Overseen by the Department of Sanitation ( “DSNY”), the CWZ program aims to revolutionize commercial waste collection and processing, prioritizing efficiency, safety, sustainability, and environmental responsibility. Through the division of New York City into 20 distinct zones, each serviced by a limited number of waste management companies selected by DSNY through a competitive RFP process, the initiative aims to significantly reduce truck traffic, cut emissions, and bolster recycling efforts.

RTS NYC has been selected as a key service provider under this transformative program. Leveraging RTS’s cutting-edge technology solutions, commitment to sustainability and strategic partnerships, RTS NYC intends to play a crucial role in reshaping the landscape of waste management in New York City.

Driving Innovation and Sustainability

The Ball Aluminum Cup® Announces Installation of a Cycle Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) at Copper Mountain Resort

BROOMFIELD, CO, March 14, 2024 – PRNewswire – Ball Aluminum Cups® (NYSE: BALL), Copper Mountain Resort and the POWDR Adventure Lifestyle Corporation today announced the installation of a Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) at Jack’s Slopeside Grill to increase aluminum recycling in the mountain town. The machine was installed in February 2024 and will be available for the duration of the season through April 2024.

Ball Corporation, a leading global provider of sustainable aluminum beverage packaging, worked with leading recycling data collection provider Recycle Track Systems ® (RTS) to install an RVM powered by RTS’s Cycle™ platform. The RVM is an essential component of Copper Mountain’s broader Play Forever commitment to protect the environment and support the mountain town community. Together, the environmental allies aim to incentivize increased recycling rates at one of the most popular ski resorts in Colorado and educate consumers about the benefits of using aluminum. Guests can insert their Ball Aluminum Cup®, aluminum can or aluminum bottle into the front of the machine, which then uses a conveyor belt to scan, crush and sort the aluminum packaging. Once the packaging is sorted, users will have the opportunity to scan a QR code and may be surprised with Play Forever merchandise.

“Installing the reverse vending machine at Copper Mountain Resort is an incredible opportunity to incentivize recycling and educate consumers about aluminum’s sustainable properties to help protect one of Colorado’s beloved mountain towns,” Ball Aluminum Cups® Vice President of Commercial Michelle Fick said. “At Ball, we recognize the power of ski resorts and other outdoor adventure centers to drive change and believe interacting with the RVM will encourage guests to make more sustainable everyday choices while enhancing their experience at the resort.”

The Cycle™-powered RVM installation will aid Copper Mountain Resort’s existing waste diversion efforts. At the end of the season, the Cycle™-powered RVM will be able to provide metrics on the quantity, type and mass of aluminum recycled.

“At Copper Mountain Resort, we’re excited to reinforce our commitment to sustainability with the introduction of this reverse vending machine. In collaboration with partners like Ball and Recycle Track Systems, we’re revolutionizing recycling practices and engaging our community in a meaningful way,” said Jeff Grasser, Copper Mountain Senior Resort Operations and Sustainability Manager. “Together, through initiatives like this, we aim to inspire and reward participants, fostering a collective passion for a more sustainable future.”

“RTS is excited to enhance our collaboration with Ball Aluminum Cup® at Copper Mountain, bringing our Cycle Reverse Vending Machines to the forefront of eco-innovation,” Recycle Track Systems® CEO Gregory Lettieri said. “This partnership is a testament to our mutual dedication to the environment and making recycling an engaging and meaningful activity. Beyond just reducing waste, we’re fostering a sense of environmental stewardship among visitors, showcasing the real-world impact of our collective efforts. It’s a step towards redefining environmental responsibility, blending sustainability seamlessly with the great outdoors.”

Infinitely recyclable and economically valuable, aluminum is the most sustainable beverage packaging material, and like aluminum cans, aluminum cups can be easily recycled and aluminum cans, cups and bottles can be recycled and back on a store shelf in about 60 days. The Ball Aluminum Cup® is now composed of 90 percent recycled content, the highest recycled content rate of any beverage packaging in its category and is available in 5 different sizes. In addition to its sustainability and recycling strengths, the aluminum cup is lightweight, sturdy, cool to the touch and provides an elevated drinking experience.

Purpose-driven and thriving: this year’s ‘BC’s Top Employers’ are announced

VANCOUVER, February 13, 2024 – Job-seekers across British Columbia are looking for employers that make a meaningful difference in their communities – and employers are responding with innovative programs that make a positive local impact. The best of these initiatives were recognized today as BC’s Top Employers (2024) were announced in a special magazine copublished by the Vancouver Sun and Mediacorp Canada Inc., organizers of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers project.

“There’s a dated assumption that meaningful work comes at a cost,” says Richard Yerema, executive editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project. “Caring for your people isn’t counter to running a successful organization, it’s key. And what better proposition to attract talented individuals than to offer progressive benefits along with the ability to have a positive impact on the broader community.”

This year’s winners are drawn from a diverse set of industries, from software to engineering and the public sector, which reflect the province’s overall economy. Among the winners are organizations that are purpose-driven themselves – such as Covenant House, a provider of housing and support services to youth facing homelessness, and United Way British Columbia, a not-for-profit organization that supports people in need.

“Many of this year’s winners are keenly aware that at the root of their success as organizations is the wellbeing of their employees,” says Kristina Leung, managing editor of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers project. “Whether it’s enhancing coverage for mental health care or increasing paid time off to enable employees to spend more time with loved ones, this year’s winners understand that taking care of employees is a central part of every decision their organizations make.”

Now in its 19th year, BC’s Top Employers is a special designation that recognizes the British Columbia employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. Editors at Mediacorp review employers on eight criteria, which have remained consistent since the project’s inception: (1) Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement. The editors publish detailed ‘reasons for selection’ for these criteria, providing transparency in the selection of winners and a catalogue of best practices for employers and job-seekers alike. The 2 competition is open to any employer with their head office or principal place of business located within British Columbia.

Founded in 1992, Mediacorp Canada Inc. is the nation’s largest publisher of employment periodicals. Since 1999, the Toronto-based publisher has managed the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, which includes 19 regional and special-interest editorial competitions that reach millions of Canadians annually through a variety of magazine and newspaper partners, including The Globe and Mail and Vancouver Sun. Mediacorp also operates Eluta.ca, one of Canada’s largest job search engines, used by millions of job-seekers annually to find new job postings and discover what the nation’s best employers are offering.

The full list of BC’s Top Employers (2024) was announced today in a special magazine published with the Vancouver Sun. Detailed ‘reasons for selection’ for each of this year’s winners, as well as hundreds of additional stories and photos about their initiatives, were released today by the editors and are accessible via the competition homepage.

The Ball Aluminum Cup® Announces Installation of a Cycle Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) at Red Rocks Amphitheatre

BROOMFIELD, COOct. 25, 2023 – PRNewswire – Ball Aluminum Cups® (NYSE: BALL) and Denver Arts & Venues today announced the installation of a Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) on the Red Rocks Amphitheatre’s Top Plaza to increase aluminum recycling in the venue. The machine was installed on October 2nd, 2023 and will be available at Red Rocks through Nov. 12, 2023. Ball Aluminum Cups® has been an official sustainability partner of Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Denver Arts & Venues since 2021 and has provided sustainable drinkware to help guests eliminate millions of single-use cans, cups, and bottles every year.

Ball, a leading global provider of sustainable aluminum beverage packaging, worked with leading RVM provider Cycle, powered by Recycle Track Systems® (RTS), to install the machine. The RVM aims to increase recycling rates at Red Rocks and educate consumers about the benefits of using aluminum.  Guests can insert their Ball Aluminum Cup®, aluminum can or aluminum bottle into the front of the machine, which then uses a conveyor belt to scan, crush and sort the aluminum packaging. Once the packaging is sorted, users will have the opportunity to scan a QR code to enter a chance to win Red Rocks merchandise.

“Installing the Reverse Vending Machine at Red Rocks brings many of Ball’s priorities to life – incentivizing recycling, educating consumers about aluminum’s sustainable properties, and driving change through entertainment events,” Ball Aluminum Cups® General Manager and President Emily Fong Mitchell said. “Interacting with the RVM will allow guests to take an active part in recycling while enhancing their overall experience at the venue through the chance to win Red Rocks merchandise.”

The RVM installation will aid Red Rocks’ existing waste diversion efforts. With over one million visitors annually, Red Rocks strives to reduce landfill waste by using a three-bin waste collection system and an employee waste sorting team to maximize recycling rates. At the end of the season, the RVM will be able to provide Red Rocks with metrics on the quantity, type and mass of aluminum recycled.

“The Reverse Vending Machine is a fun way to engage Red Rocks fans in sustainability efforts,” said Brian Kitts, Red Rocks spokesman. “Our use of the Ball Aluminum Cup® works best when fans understand the infinite recyclability of the cups and are partners in making that happen.”

“At RTS, we’re thrilled to leverage Cycle’s innovative solutions for this initiative with the Ball Aluminum Cup® at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre,” Recycle Track Systems® CEO Gregory Lettieri said.” Our collaboration is about more than just recycling; it’s about gamifying sustainability. Cycle makes recycling convenient while also engaging and rewarding guests. Together, we’re demonstrating how technology and sustainability can come together to create an unforgettable experience for all while making a positive impact on our planet.”

Infinitely recyclable and economically valuable, aluminum is the most sustainable beverage packaging material, and like aluminum cans, aluminum cups can be easily recycled. 75 percent of all the aluminum ever produced is still in use today and aluminum cans, cups and bottles can be recycled and back on a store shelf in about  60 days.
